Amanda Maynard

Amanda graduated from Ball State University in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. she currently teaches fourth and fifth grades at Ridge View Elementary in Hobart, Indiana. She is currently working on a master's degree in elementary science education through Purdue University-Calumet. When not teaching, she is the sponsor for the Crown Point High School Flag Corps in Crown Point, Indiana. During the summer, she tutors children and teaches a Space Adventure Camp at the Challenger Learning Center of Northwest Indiana. In addition to teaching, she sponsors a Media Club for fourth and fifth grade students, serves on the Textbook Adoption Committee, and is the Writing Committee Chairperson for the NCA school improvement plan.

She is happily married to her husband, Rob. They have two black labradors, Jessie and Jack, who are their only 'children' for the moment. They enjoy traveling together, and hope to return to Hawaii soon!
