Alice (Alex) Eilers

I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from the University of Mississippi in 1990 and my graduate degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Memphis in 1996. While attending graduate school, I began working part-time for the Sharpe Planetarium. In 1997, shortly after graduating, I accepted a full-time position as the Education Coordinator - where I am currently employed.

The Sharpe Planetarium offers a variety of programs to serve students Pre-K-12th Grade. My primary focus, however, is teaching Pre-K through 8th grade. Our shows, both live and pre-recorded, have been aligned with national and local standards to ensure age appropriate programming. Shows are offered Monday - Friday during the school year at 9:45, 11:00, and sometimes 12:00.

The Sharpe Planetarium is located at 3050 Central Ave., in Memphis, Tennessee. Wee are a part of the Pink Palace Family of Museums which not only includes the Sharpe Planetarium but also The Union Planters IMAX Theater, Pink Palace Museum, Lichterman Nature Center, Coon Creek Science Center and two historic homes: Mallory-Neely House and Magevney House.
