Rick Peck currently teaches 6th grade science at Seneca Ridge Middle School in Sterling, Virginia, where he has been teaching since 1999. Prior to that, he had a career in business, which included being a partner of a major accounting firm in Washington, D.C. and the chief financial officer of a publishing firm in Springfield, Virginia. He is a graduate of Amherst College, the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce, and Shenandoah University. Passionate about space and the natural world, he believes that spreading an infectious enthusiasm about the concepts and particulars is important for students of all ages to become lifelong learners. He is active in efforts to bring a 134 million:1 scale model solar system to Loudoun County, to include a unique model of the Sun, with active features to replicate actions of the Sun.
