Annette Pearson has been teaching middle grades Science for the last thirteen years in the Paulding County Schools outside the city of Atlanta. She loves helping her gifted students investigate the wonders of Earth and Physical Science. In her classroom, students are scientists, uncovering the concepts of the state standards and forming their own understanding. One of her greatest rewards is to motivate and train other teachers to engage students with an inquiry approach. As part of an MSP grant, she has been able to inspire others at conferences, both state and national, to implement an inquiry approach in their own Science classrooms. Participating in Northrop Grumman’s Zero G “Flight of Discovery” was one the personal highlights of her teaching career.
